scholarship deadline is april 15, 2025!

RMGC Scholarships

Two $500 scholarships per school, are available to Rolling Meadows and Fremd High School seniors, for the 2025-2026 school year.


Applicant Eligibility

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a current senior at William Fremd High School, Palatine, IL or Rolling Meadows High School, Rolling Meadows, IL.
  • Show proof of completed FAFSA (screenshot of completion message on your account page is acceptable). 
  • Show proof of acceptance into an accredited community college, four-year college, or university.
  • Commit to attend a post-secondary program full-time.
  • Must be planning to attend full-time as defined by enrollment in a minimum of 12 graded hours of classes.
  • Must be going into a major related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design, horticulture, agriculture, or other related field at the discretion of the committee.
  • Essay - limited to 1 page. Include background, career goals and how your major will help you reach them, financial need and how this scholarship will help you accomplish your goals, honors or activities you feel would help the committee know you better as an applicant, especially if these activities are horticulture related.
  • One (1) letter of recommendation by someone who can speak to your personal character and agriculture-related experiences. Examples could be (but are not limited to) a teacher, 4H leader, a group or organization you have volunteered for, or employer.


Selection Criteria

  • All applications received by April 15th will be judged by the Scholarship Committee in order to choose two winning applications per school.
  • The following will be used for the evaluation of each application: 
  •    Letter of Recommendation
  •       Personal inspiration for pursuing this educational track from essay
  •    Current activities in pursuit of a horticultural/agricultural career
  •    Future goals in the field
  • Winners will be notified in writing of the committee’s decision, by the first week of May. Other applicants will not be notified personally in writing.
  • Recipients will also be posted on the website.

2024 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT!

The Club was happy to present a $1,000 scholarship to Rolling Meadows High School student Fernando Cabral Gutierrez. Fernando is pursuing education in the field of equestrian science.


The scholarship is awarded to support the educational goals of students pursuing a major related to gardening, landscape design, environmental issues, floral design, horticulture, or agriculture.
